As the new year begins, January holds special meaning for us at Covenant Logistics. This month, we proudly celebrate 21 years in the logistics industry—a significant milestone that reflects resilience, growth, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
In an ever-evolving logistics landscape, longevity is not accidental. It is earned through reliability, adaptability, and a consistent focus on serving clients with integrity. Reaching 21 years is a testament to our exceptional team, our trusted partners, and our valued customers who have walked this journey with us. As we step into a new year, we do so with renewed purpose, clear goals, and gratitude for how far we’ve come.
Founded in 2005, Covenant Logistics was established to meet a clear need in the market: dependable transportation solutions for containerised cargo between Durban and Johannesburg, as well as within the greater Durban area. At the time, the logistics industry faced significant challenges, particularly around communication, transparency, and reliability.
While transport services existed, clients often lacked real-time information, clear delivery plans, and dependable estimated delivery times. Recognising this gap, founder Miranda Dayaram set out to build a logistics company where communication would be at the heart of every operation.
The journey was not without obstacles. What began as a proposal to grow a new division—supported by a list of 20 potential clients—was initially dismissed as something that “would never work.” But perseverance, faith, and a determined Let’s Do This mindset laid the foundation for what Covenant Logistics has become today.
From day one, communication has been our differentiator.
“2005 was the year YouTube launched, and dial-up internet was still a thing,” Miranda reflects. “Starting Covenant Logistics was our way of creating opportunity—freeing ourselves from income and time limitations while supporting our family. This business became our baby. Twenty-one years later, every valley and every mountaintop was worth it.”
Over the years, our commitment to clear, honest, and consistent communication has allowed us to build long-standing relationships and deliver logistics solutions our clients can depend on.
Today, Covenant Logistics is more than a logistics provider—it is a growing legacy. Our vision extends beyond moving goods; it’s about empowering our team to build generational wealth, fostering leadership, and creating a business that stands for integrity and service.
“We could not have done this on our own,” Miranda shares. “Committing our plans to God was our first step, and seeking guidance in every decision remains part of our daily walk. This faith gives us the courage to face challenges head-on, act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly.”
